PERMATRAN-W® Model 3/34


The PERMATRAN W 3/34 water vapor permeation instrument is designed specifically to increase your lab’s efficiency, streamline your operations, and improve throughput. Your operators will now spend less time setting up and monitoring permeation tests, allowing them to achieve more in less time.

Less skills are required as a new user interface and increased automation has simplified testing, which reduces the costs associated with training new staff members or transitioning responsibilities within the company. Starting a new test can be as simple as the press of a single button in certain applications. Operators are able to pre-program a range of tests and different conditions and run them continuously without operator intervention.

Advanced technology has enabled the PERMATRAN-W 3/34 to automatically assign the ideal calibration mid-test based on trending data, instead of requiring that the operator predicts the outcome before they start the test. This means that a test will never have to be rerun due to a mistaken calibration choice.

OX-TRAN® Model 2/12


The OX-TRAN® Model 2/12 is used to detect and measure small amounts of oxygen as it passes through barrier materials such as plastics and composites that are used in all types of packaging. OX-TRAN systems enable you to measure the effects of temperature and relative humidity on high-barrier films and packages. By using an electrochemical sensor, this system provides a high sensitivity even in the presence of water vapor. This makes it ideal for deciding how thick and what barrier material will best suit the project at hand. It is also well suited for incoming QC situations to measure vendor compliance with your specifications.

All test results are recorded by refined, user-friendly software that provides graphs, tables, and numerical listings. In addition to barrier oxygen transmission testing, another configuration of the “2/12” is designed to measure high transmission rates for fresh-cut produce packaging applications.

PERMATRAN-W® Model 700


The PERMATRAN-W® Model 700 is part of Mocon’s modern permeation instrument family, used for Water Vapor Transmission Rate (WVTR) testing, including high-quality technology that sets a new standard for accuracy, throughput, and ease of use.

The simple design is ideal for quality control as well as research and development. The OX-TRAN Model 702 includes a convenient QuickStart feature which enables an operator to begin testing within moments. The model also includes standard security features to protect critical test setups and control multiple-user situations.

The Model 702 complies with:

It is certified traceable to NIST and is CFR21 Part 11 compliant. These, as well as optional validation services, certification services, service contracts and use of the highest quality elements, ensure that all regulatory requirements will be met and that the results on which decisions are made will be accurate.

Unique Cell Design

The advanced pneumatic push-button test cells are designed to accommodate standard 50 cm2 samples. These samples can be easily prepared as the cell structures are removable and include an improved surface finish with Nichrome plating for durability. The seven test cells are independently controlled, which makes it possible to run three sets of duplicate samples while allowing for one user-provided reference material.
